According to the Customs Control Committee at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in September 2017 Kazakhstan exported the maximum volumes of grains for the reporting month for 5 recent seasons - 417 thsd tonnes.
Traditionally, wheat took the leading positions in the export structure, and its share reached 62%. But in the reporting month, Kazakhstan reduced wheat shipments by 28% compared with September 2016 - 257.5 thsd tonnes, against 355 thsd tonnes.
Also, barley made considerable contribution to the general grain exports. In the reporting period, its share reached 37% in the export structure - 153 thsd tonnes. The export figures broke a record for September period, and exceeded the barley volumes exported in September 2016 in 5.4 times.
In the reporting month of 2017, Iran purchased almost all barley supplies (144 thsd tonnes, or 94%).
